BLUE BABY TO PREMIERE AT WARSAW FILM FESTIVAL

Directed by Klaus Härö, Blue Baby will screen in The Animus. Cinema of Values section at the Warsaw Film Festival, taking place from 9–18 October 2026.

The section is dedicated to films exploring fundamental human values, moral choices and the spiritual dimensions of contemporary life, themes at the heart of Härö’s new film. Set against the backdrop of a crisis in the healthcare system, Blue Baby follows the encounter between two women and explores questions of love, responsibility and difficult moral choices.

The film stars Laura Birn, Oona Airola and Jussi Vatanen.

Blue Baby is the tenth feature film by award-winning Finnish director Klaus Härö, whose films have screened at major international festivals including Toronto and Berlin. His 2015 feature The Fencer was nominated for a Golden Globe and shortlisted for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

The film continues Härö’s long-standing collaboration with screenwriters Kirsi Vikman and Jimmy Karlsson, whose previous work together includes Mother of Mine and My Sailor, My Love. Blue Baby marks the fourth collaboration between Härö and Making Movies, which celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2026.

Blue Baby is produced by Making Movies and will have its international premiere at the 42nd Warsaw Film Festival, 9–18 October 2026.
