ALMA SELECTED FOR NORDIC GENRE LAB
Making Movies’ feature film project ALMA has been selected for the first-ever Nordic Genre Lab, a new development and networking programme for Nordic genre films taking place during Finnish Film Affair in Helsinki this September.
The selection was announced by Screen Daily, which revealed the eight feature film projects chosen for the inaugural edition of the lab. Bringing together emerging and established genre filmmakers from across the Nordic region, the programme is designed to help projects strengthen their international potential through mentorship, workshops and industry networking opportunities.
Directed by Pete Riski and written by Ilja Rautsi, ALMA is a supernatural coming-of-age thriller that follows 17-year-old Jasmin as she reconnects with her estranged grandmother Alma, only to discover a dark legacy of telekinetic powers and a deadly force born from them.
ALMA is produced by Making Movies, with producers Pauliina Piipponen, Kai Nordberg and Kaarle Aho.
