KLAUS HÄRÖ'S FILM MY SAILOR, MY LOVE BREAKS THE 100,000 VIEWER MARK

THE FILM MY SAILOR, MY LOVE DIRECTED BY KLAUS HÄRÖ HAS SURPASSED THE MILESTONE OF 100,000 VIEWERS IN CINEMAS. THE FILM HAS SO FAR BEEN SEEN BY 100,109 VIEWERS.

"My Sailor, My Love is the sixth film directed by Klaus Härö and distributed by Nordisk Film. In total, these films have gathered 600,000 viewers in cinemas. Klaus Härö has a unique relationship with his audience and this was also evident in the audience poll conducted by Helsingin Sanomat, where two of Klaus Härö's films were voted as the most touching domestic films of the 21st century. The wonderful audience feedback we have received for My Sailor, My Love propels the series of Klaus Härö's wonderful films", says Nordisk Film's distribution director Katarina Nyman

"The exceptionally high viewer numbers indicate that the film's story strongly appeals to the audience. It's great that My Sailor, My Love has brought large age groups back to theaters in such large numbers", says the film's producer Kai Nordberg.

My Sailor, My Love was awarded in October with the Audience Award for Best International Film at the Chicago International Film Festival and it has broken the attendance record at Bio Rex Cinemas' senior cinema.

The film, produced by Helsinki-based Making Movies and filmed in Ireland, stars James Cosmo, Bríd Brennan, and Catherine Walker. The film premiered worldwide at the Toronto International Film Festival in September and has already been sold for distribution to Australia, New Zealand, Spain, UK and Ireland.

My Sailor, My Love was produced by Kai Nordberg and Kaarle Aho. The original script was written by the writers of the successful film Mother of Mine, Kirsi Vikman and Jimmy Karlsson. My Sailor, My Love tells the story of an old sea captain who falls in love with his housekeeper. The man's adult daughter does not approve of the relationship and she wants to reclaim the father she never really had. The film tells a timeless story of love, forgiveness, and caring.

The film is distributed by Nordisk Film and it premiered in cinemas throughout Finland on September 30, 2022.
